Neumann Industrial Coatings can deliver high quality application of primers, topcoats, heat proof coatings, salt water resistant paints, two Pac Paint, enamel and micron testing.
This project involved the restoration of a semi trailer body for Shackell Transport from Pottsville.
Shackell Transport offers an Australia wide freight service specialising in bulk liquid haulage. They have built their reputation with long term customers for who, efficiency and reliability is paramount. Shackell Transport prides itself on its ability to provide professional and reliable service, offering a prompt response to all enquiries.
They pride themselves in all their equipment as you can easily tell by their impressive fleet of trucks and trailers. Truck bodies take a bit of abuse over the years and this was no exception, but after a several days work the team had this one looking like new again!
Scope of Works
Abrasive Blasting
The truck body was abrasive blasted using GL 40 Steel Grit (about 0.5mm) to White Metal specification (Sa3, AS 1627.9).
Industrial Protective Coatings
Primer – It was then primed with Nason Industrial 2K ZP epoxy primer. This is a two component epoxy anti-corrosive primer pigmented with zinc phosphate. The fast drying and handling properties, together with extended over-coatability, make this an excellent primer for factory application prior to full system application on site. Nason Industrial 2K ZP provides good abrasion resistance which minimises mechanical damage in transit between the factory and site.
Top Coats – We then spray two tops coats of Jotun Hardtop Pro polyurethane in grey white colour. This is a two component chemically curing acrylic polysiloxane coating. It is a high solids product. It has a high gloss finish. It has excellent gloss and colour retention. It has very good mechanical properties and chemical resistance.
