Scope of Works

Surface Preparation

All of the winch component were abrasive blasted (sandblasted) with steel grit media to a Sa 2.5 blast grading.

Painting

The winch components were then primed with a single coat of Jotun Barrier Grey. This is a two component polyamide cured zinc rich epoxy coating. It is a very high zinc dust containing product.

It was then undercoated with a single coat of Jotumastic 90, which is a two-pack surface tolerant, abrasion resistant, high solids polyamine cured epoxy mastic coating. And then a second coat of Jotumastic 90 Grey, which is s a two component polyamine cured epoxy mastic coating. It is a surface tolerant, high solids, high build product. It is reinforced with glass flakes for improved abrasion and scratch resistance.

The final two topcoats were Jotun Hardtop Ultra Black, Hardtop Ultra is a two-pack polyurethane topcoat suitable for application by brush or roller with excellent gloss and colour retention.

Materials Used

Product Description:

This is a two component polyamide cured zinc rich epoxy coating. It is a very high zinc dust containing product. It conforms to the compositional requirements of SSPC paint 20, level 2.
